I have owned two cats in the past, but we had to give them up due to a move. I know that's a common excuse, but we moved by car, and they would not enjoy being stuck in a cat carrier for three weeks. I have taken care of two parrots for a month for my friend Andrea, who was in Hawaii for her sister's wedding (they had to help with the prep), and once handled the Red Factor Canaries at a nearby bird store. Oh, and this store is a small, family-run business, so they do let you do this from time to time. That's it for experience. I wanted a canary, cockatiel, or possibly parakeet if I got a bird. I wanted a Siamese or Tabby (Like we used to have), but only from a shelter. I have the money for either, noise isn't an issue, we have a good vet for either nearby, and we have considered smell a vague issue, but the cat's litter box would be in the basement. It is warm enough down there, by the way. I'm confused, because either would work. I can't get both, idiot.

This a presentation to be done by myself and two other in a group of three. It should go for 5 min. The Situation: Stasi has a one year contract earning him $60,000 per annum after tax.He has an opportunity to buy into a business that will have cash receipts of $200,000 and payments of $140,000. These payments include his weekly drawings of $500. If it costs Stasi $30,000 to buy into the business, should he do it? What other important factors should he consider? OK, so can someone please define/explain 'cash receipts' and 'payments' in the context of this situation? Also 'What other important factors should he consider?' Points awarded for best answer!

This is a more substantial question than it leads. I have BS in Marketing and am almost finished with my MBA in business intelligence from a non top-tier program. I have 2 years with a fortune 500 in consumer packaged goods and about 3.5 years in the industry. I am considering returning to school for doctoral degree but I have several potential paths. MD - I started out in pre-med and would only need just over 1 year of science pre-reqs to apply for med school. From what I hear, already having my mba might be a bosst in terms of applying. I am interested in orthopedic surgery and advantually administration. Medicine is where my heart is. I have excellent resources and connections in the industry. MBA - I am currently on a career track toward marketing and enjoy the subject. I am almost done with school but have been told I can never have the position I want due to political factors. I am eligible for promotion prior to completing my mba but it is not something I want to do. I have excellent connection here too. Lawyer - I find this field interesting as well and more practical than medicine at my current state. I have good connections in this field and it would rewquire no pre-reqs, only an LSAT training course. I could use my background to command a job in corporate law and that would be my ideal path. I am ultimately looking to do something I really enjoy. I am unsure whether to follow my heart or just be practical at my age (25). I am looking for feedback on the subject and what people would consider as a path if they were in my shoes.

Hi everyone! I hit a hard time in my life and I'm looking for some advice with it. If u could help in any way, I would be extremely grateful! I'm 17 (18 in oct.), m, and gay. I came out to my mom when I was 15 and since then she has been very worried and concerned. Also, my dad lives out of state so I rarely talk to him. So recently I thought it would be nice to meet another gay members of the community just to talk to: nothing sexual. I found a nice 20 yo guy who lives a little ways away but was interested in lunch as well. He is a parapalegic bc he has cerebal palsy. I texted him and asked if he would enjoy having lunch with me. He agreed. So at the same time I don't want my mom to know, because it is my business and I am kinda ashamed bc I am gay. So I told him let's have lunch here in town and I won't tell her I'm going out; he sent a text later on saying "will she buy it?" he was being in a joking mood at the time. I didn't delete them bc I forgot to, and my mom went through my phone and saw them. Ever since then I have lost her trust she says. And I know I have! I wake up and regret the decision of even thinking about this guy! So since then my best friend and I have been planning a little vacation (like 5 days) to SD Mt Rushmore area. My mom was still worried about the trust factor and then about sturgis going on a week after we plan on being back home. So we said we wouldn't go there, even though we are seriously bummed. He invited me over today so we can plan things and figure out what else we want to do. But at the same time, I had to watch my sister. I asked her if she would like to go to her friends house for the day and I would go to my friends and plan. I told my mom her friend called and asked if she could come over, even though we made the plans. Well my mom figured that out too and we both are in a serious heap of trouble bc we both made a white lie. I once again regret trying to get my sister to go along with this. Basically the night before we were asked to stay home and get the house ready for an appraisal bc we are going to buy it- it's on a contract for deed right now. But I though lt if we planned my trip then I wouldn't have to worry about it bc today was the only day we could do so. Anyways my mom has stated to me clearly that she has lost all trust to me. And I regret all the things that lead up to it, but at the same time I was doing what I thought I would want. I clearly know there isn't a solid solution to this, but I would love to hear of ways to make it better (or at least try to) once again I would love any positive feedback or advice. Please don't be derogatory. I don't mind negative feedback at all providing it's not demeaning to me. Thank you all, I'm having a very stressful time with all this!

When you take the exam and fail it you're given a Section Analysis showing you from the 4 parts of the exam your percentage on each part totaling 100%. After Jan 01, 2010 the pass grade was increased to 75% and the exam itself was weighted differently. There are 100 questions. 50% Laws, Regs and Guidelines 30% Client Investment Recommendations and Strategies 15% Investment Vehicle Characteristics 5% Economic Factors and Business Information My score was 64%, 63%, 80%, 40% respectively. I don't want to waste time on chapters I know and I don't really want to buy additional material. Also, the class is in 3 days and I don't have the cash at the moment. I used STC to study and did all the practice and closed book exams. Up to a week before the exam I was scoring 85% and over on the closed books but still failed by 10 questions. I was pretty sure I covered my weak areas too. Any tips or advice would be awesome!

Well, I'm 20 years old, study Maths in university and I am also working towards a diploma in Accountancy because my focus is to become successful in business and finance. I have Asperger's Syndrome, which makes it difficult for me to socialise with other people on an emotional level rather than an intellectual level. When I talk to girls, my initial reaction is to ask them something, like a direct question rather than confidently make conversation. I can make people laugh, as I have a good sense of humour, but it all depends upon my mood; I am naturally very introverted, I spend 90% of my time alone and working on my own on projects.. Also, I am only 5'4" in height, and I look about 16-17. I find it easier to flirt with older women than women my age because I feel that they are not judging me, whereas I feel that girls my age are so superficial and shallow that I could not connect with them. I have always struggled with confidence with girls in terms of being 'masculine', partially because of my height, but also because I have been abused in the past and beaten by my dad when I was 8. I was filled with fear as na child, plus I was always bullied for being 'different'.

I aiming this question to any car dealers, that may be able to answer this question perhaps give me some advice. im new to the trade, however when i say new i been around the car business for a few years offering a valet service mainly preparing vehicle for sale, and i did this very well, up until recently i dicided to go out on a limb and try a bit of wheeler dealering, its gone ok up until recently, what with the holidays, im still trying to get to know the market, when it gets busy and when i goes dead, but there are other factors that im having trouble with, i recently bought a a 2004 renault clio auto, with 21000 on the clock with history, i carried a service and put a new mot onit and ivaleted it, and carried a hpi check and i set the price at £3650 and i have reduced to £3495, but i have no calls since june, im in a position where im not sure what to do if it does not sell, im sure many car dealers have been in this position before when certain cars dont sell, i have adervtised the car on most local web sites, should i just wait until the trade picks up not what would a trade proffessional would do in this situatation. any adice welcome cheers.

You can not claim they were a capitalist society, if you have seen their socialistic rants against big business and capitalism. However, they also hated communism, but prefered it to capitalism. It is clear that the Nazis did not support socialism from an egalitarian perspective. They instead supported an economic Third Way leaning towards socialism, as evidenced by some of Goebbels' diary "it would be better for us to go down with Bolshevism than live in eternal slavery under capitalism.". In Mein Kampf, Hitler basically supported a form of mercantilism. Many Nazis originally stressed the socialist factor of Nazism. However, they were purged from the Party and the SA for fear of alienating the conservative military. The social positions of Nazism were not conservative in the traditional sense; instead, they were completely radical. This was the same with all forms of fascism. It was all about destroying "the System." The Nazis ranted and raved about destroying all things reactionary. Theymade new art, new architecture, new literature, new culture. They wanted to make new Germans. The State was to replace the Church, with Hitler as Christ for the Aryan race. Right wing, huh? FDR did the exact same things you claim the Nazis did. No one regards him as a right-winger. To the point, Germany was not run by capitalists. This is a fantasy created and believed by those with other agendas in mind. They want to exploit the deaths in ww2 and the Holocaust to blame capitalism. Capitalsim did not create any of this. Statism did. Have you LEARNED that Nazi Germany was a totlitarian nation? OK, I have to write several articles on John D. Rockefeller, on multiple topics. But this one is rather puzzling for me. I can't seem to be able to formulate an answer as to why John D. Rockefeller was able to win over his rivals and establish his monopoly in the oil industry. I've read about railroad rebates, efficiency of operations, large volume provider, but yet none of these is an advantage that none of his rivals had. Sure efficiency, he could claim he was amongst the best, if not the best (but that still doesn't give you a massive advantage, so as to monopolize the industry), large volume, yes but there were people that were comparable to him in size in the beginning, and railroad rebates, that was common practice, and he wasn't the only one doing it. I've been reading everything I could find about John D. Rockefeller, including Ida Tarbell's writings, and half of his biography "Titan". I've also read about the South Improvement Company, but he wasn't the only refiner involved, + that it never actually worked, + if it was working, other big refiners would offer the same proposition logically. All sources I read seem to pretend that Rockefeller came, and all his opponents sat like ducks doing nothing while he got ahead. Also, some sources cite a reason as "predatory pricing", which again doesn't make ANY sense, unless he already had a HUGE advantage over his competitors that he could safely undersell them and make a nice margin. I'd buy that "predatory pricing", but only if I see it backed by some actual advantage that the others didn't have/couldn't get. That doesn't make sense, we all know that in a real business environment there is no such thing. Each and everyone struggles to get ahead of his rivals and lower their costs. So I am pretty much stuck with three possibilities: 1. Either he had a much better product, yet I don't see how that could bring him that much of an advantage so that he could monopolize the oil industry. 2. Either he was so much more efficient, which again doesn't make sense... his rivals weren't all stupid, why wouldn't they push for the same efficiency? 3. Or finally, he was a lot better at negotiating compared to his rivals, which allowed him to get business deals (buying out competitors, loans, railroad rebates etc.) that they couldn't get, thus giving him some advantage. (this sounds plausible, but I haven't read something that confirms it. I haven't read about John D. being a splendid negotiator). So far my views on this thing are like this: Even if he was more efficient, it couldn't have been by such a large margin as to allow him to undersell his competitors. I mean, say his costs were 5% less which is huge already. He wouldn't have the volume necessary to undersell the whole oil industry and overtake all the demand + he wouldn't want to have a 5% margin when he could get a 10% margin like his competitors who would likely be able to still sell, since Rockefeller couldn't undersell them all over a large area. If we add in product quality, it still wouldn't give him the necessary advantage. Rail Road rebates, most refiners did get them as well, and those that didn't, I don't see any reason why they couldnt get them (maybe the negotiation factor, but I see no evidence of this). Also the acquisitions argument isn't strong either... I mean if it was profitable to buy other refiners, surely his competitors would do it as well. There's also the argument that they sold to him because they knew they couldn't compete, but never a clear, logical reason to back up the reason WHY they wouldnt be able to compete. Can anyone lend me some help on what exactly, in your opinion, was/were the main advantages that John D. Rockefeller and Standard Oil had over their competitors, and why their competitors didn't have access to these advantages? Thanks in advance!

Little Bio about myself: I am 28yrs old guy living in San Francisco. During my first year at undergrad school, I found out that I was interested in Multimedia and Design. I took it up as a hobby and continued with my degree and finally graduated with a computer science diploma after four years. But by that time, I had unconsciously made-up my mind that I wanted to work in visual effects industry for Hollywood movies (It sounded impossible to me because I was sitting in a third world country thousand of miles away with no clue about the Effects business). But I guess my motivation paid off and a year later I moved to US to study at a design college for MFA in visual effects and computer graphics. I had to work really hard for a year to develop a design portfolio to get into this school. But quite soon I found out that I am not the smartest kid among a huge group of people at my school, all of them wanted exactly the same thing - to get into the five best effects companies in the world. After I graduated, I started applying to these companies with no money and no contacts. From here onwards I left it completely on luck and to some extent God. So it happened, I ended up getting a job at a company that seemed impossible to get into and only a handful fresh graduates make it there. I am talking about a very famous vfx company which probably shaped american pop culture through some of its iconic movie characters from 80's and 90's. I needed a visa and money to move to san francisco, and I still feel lost at words sometimes how everything fell into place because that's what I wanted and someone somewhere was listening. So here I was two and half years after I decided to work for 'hollywood' movies actually 'doing' it. Now coming back to my question. Although I absolutely love my job and literally everything about it (I have zero complaints) but for the past month or so, I have started to feel this emptiness growing inside me. I won't lie if I say money is a factor in this whole saga, but I have started to feel that I need to do something bigger. Just the thought of starting my own business makes me smile. Some people might argue that's a tough thing and very few people succeed but basing on my previous experience, I think everything is possible. Motivation, determination and hardwork is the key. And offcourse being a little smart about decision you take in life (which some people call calculated risks) I usually meet a lot of successful people at my company as well as guests who come to speak here. People who have won oscars/baftas/and grammys, contributed something to this world and made a name for themselves. It makes me even more eager about doing something for myself but at the same time I feel that my thoughts are all over the place. I only have about roughly two years of experience here, but since I am 28 already - I want to do something before I turn thirty. That gives me only two years. I don't want to leave my job for few years (until I see something is shaping up) but this idea (of doing something for me) is very contagious as Nolan puts it in inception :). I am really passionate about movies and CG. And I also have really keen interest in brands and advertising. But, I am having a hard time to come up with an idea that converges all of my interests at a single place. This whole dream that I am dreaming is very new to me, so may be I need some more time to think about it.. so there you have it, i dont know if it's a question that I am asking here, I am probably just thinking loud. But what would you do in this scenario. You think I am being bit unreasonable for thinking about start-up so soon, when I am practically not even a US citizen yet. Do you have any ideas I can brainstorm with. I am almost convinced america is a land to make your dreams come true - and I want to give it a try. Thanks for any input!

I just lost my business computer to a massive mechanical failure. The hard drive was ruined (I opened it. One of the heads was completely gone!) The mother board was trashed and even the RAM chips were burned. I had backups but not for everything. It will take me time to rebuild all the software and records and some of the files are gone forever. So, I'm thinking of building a computer that will have a lot of redundancy so if something goes down there will always be a backup. I'm tired of buying off-the-shelf computers that are inadequate for my uses. Of course I will get an external hard drive and do backups that way but I'm thinking of a "supercomputer" style setup with multiple hard drives and maxed out RAM and if at all possible multiple mother boards and operating systems. If at all possible I'd like to have not only Windows but Linux and a MAC OS so I can have multiple lines of defense from malicious programs like virus, trojans, malware as well as all the best features of each system. I'm definitely doing a RAID or several RAIDS if the "supercomputer" actually turns into several computers linked together. I'd like to say that money is no object as this will be funded by my business and will be a tax write off but realistically... Hardware is not a problem as I'm a hardware "geek" with a lot of electronics and fabrication skills as well as a fully equipped shop (Aluminum plate case with all the cooling being done with condenser / evaporator HVAC style units) but the software part is not exactly my forte. I should add that the computer will not be used as most computers are used. No gaming, very little if any music / movie downloading. Instead it will be used for business records, programming industrial devices, email correspondence, power and HVAC management and telecommunication. The largest factor is the computer's ability to recover from failures.

French chocolate is a well kept secret. At the onset of the industrial revolution, business were creating chocolate candy and beverages, becomes passion in French culture the way wine is. Romance and Chocolate are two exotic factors. Although it was not created in France, it quickly spread and many people began to talk about it’s therapeutic value. The French Academy of Chocolate and Candy Making, established in 1901, is a unique tradition. It is composed of 40 chocolate “experts, they define the vocabulary of chocolate making. Each year they award a prize to people who are dedicated in the chocolate making. Chocolate is mentioned in poetry. Several factors lead to its demise: -More and more people just download fee movies from the internet. -Soon many movies will have virtual actors. - People is getting tired of (human) actors who pretend they are the only ones who understand of politics and save the world. Besides, the way they react when one of their own is caught (Polanski) is disgusting, like if making movies gave them carte blanche to drug and rape little girls. So do you think Hollywood is gonna go out of business?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke heads to Congress Wednesday with a message of reassurance: The Fed stands ready to take new steps to bolster the recovery if the economy worsens. The Fed chief kicks off back-to-back appearances on Capitol Hill at a delicate time for the economy. The recovery, which had been flashing signs of strengthening earlier this year, is losing momentum. And fears are growing that it could stall. Consumer have cut spending. Businesses, uncertain about the strength of their own sales or the economic recovery, are sitting on cash, reluctant to beef up hiring and expand operations. A stalled housing market, near double-digit unemployment and an edgy Wall Street shaken by Europe's debt crisis are other factors playing into the economic slowdown. Bernanke, who is scheduled to deliver his twice-a-year economic report to the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday afternoon, will probably again downplay the odds that the economy will slide back into a "double dip" recession. But at the same time, he'll strike a more cautious tone, pointing out that the fragile economy is still vulnerable to shocks. To strengthen the economy, the Fed is likely to hold a key bank lending rate at a record low near zero well into 2011, or possibly into 2012, economists predict. That would mean rates on certain credit cards, home equity loans, some adjustable-rate mortgages and other consumer loans would stay at their lowest point in decades. Ultra-low lending rates, however, haven't done much lately to rev up the economy. Consumers and businesses are cautious and aren't showing an appetite to spend as lavishly as they usually do in the early stages of economic recoveries. Even though the prospects of deflation -- a widespread and prolonged drop in prices for goods, the value of stocks and homes and in wages -- is remote, some Fed officials are worried about it. Keeping rates low would help prevent deflationary forces from taking hold. Against such a backdrop, Fed officials at their June meeting cut their forecasts for growth this year. They also saw the need to explore new options for energizing the rebound. That's a turnaround from earlier this year when they were moving to wind down crisis-era supports. If the recovery were to deteriorate, the Fed could revive programs to buy mortgage securities or government debt. It could lower the interest rate paid to banks on money left at the Fed or cut the rate banks pay for emergency Fed loans. The Fed also could create a new program to spark more lending to businesses and consumers in a bid to lure them to ratchet up spending and grow the economy. The economic hurdles to taking such steps would be high, analysts say. There's also unease within the Fed about taking additional stimulative steps because of fear they could spur inflation or speculative excesses by investors later on. Bernanke will be under more pressure than usual because it's an election year. Upset by high unemployment, rising foreclosures and lackluster wage gains, voters may seek to punish incumbent Democrats and Republicans in Congress if the economy doesn't get better. The unemployment rate, now at 9.5 percent, is expected to stay high -- in the 9 percent range -- through the end of this year, under the Fed's forecast. Despite the wobbly recovery, there's little appetite in Congress to enact a major new stimulus package. Senate Republicans in particular have balked at spending more when the government is already saddled with record high budget deficits. Bernanke appears before the House Financial Services Committee on Thursday. When Bernanke delivered his economic report to Congress in February, he struck a confident note that the rebound would endure. But he warned it would not be robust enough to quickly lower unemployment. At the same time, he was laying the groundwork for the Fed to start boosting rates once the recovery was firmly entrenched. Now, given rising threats to the rebound, prospects of a rate increase this year have disappeared, and the Fed is more focused on keeping the recovery alive ANYTHING to prop up HIS FAKE RECOVERY ! This master's thesis was aimed at determining the relationship between leadership style restaurant business in a company with respect to certain outcome variables that affect generally the working environment and profitability of the company. Variables that cause the problems of the company. It was established that leadership style employed by the department heads of the company, negatively affected the outcome variables. To accomplish this, we analyzed the factors that determine leadership styles autocratic, democratic and laissez faire and its influence on the outcome variables: discipline, relationship with coworkers, relationships with bosses or superiors, recognition of workers and teamwork, job training and professional development, leadership and communication skills, planning and problem solving, satisfaction with pay, job satisfaction, overall satisfaction with the company, productivity and ergonomics and environmental conditions. And indeed it was found that the laissez faire style of leadership which is the most commonly handled by department heads negatively influenced the outcome variables, so it was important to make several proposals for the company to improve on the variables results. Do the admissions at the UC's work by major? I want to be a drama major there, and am wondering how academics would factor into that? It's a non-audition program, so I know it all depends on academics, test scores, extra-currics, etc, but my question is, would it be easier to get into the school as a Drama major as opposed to something like Biology, Economics, Business, or whatever? I would think that Drama is not as competitive of a major as those, but I would just like some opinions. -Thank you! Just so everyone knows, I'm not asking this because I plan on getting accepted into an easier major and then changing majors, I intend to stick with the Drama major, or audition for their musical theater program. So, I'm not trying to get it any easier.

Hello there, Customer finds a cockroach in his plate at a restaurant. Takes a pic, goes back home, blogs about it, and it spreads like a virus across the city. And in no time theres direct affect of negative Word of Mouth. Word of Mouth is the most powerful promotion tool, and a negative one is surely not good at all. "Not good if you're on the other side", as Steve Jobs quoted regarding iPhone 4 signal problems. Has also hit the core customers of the business. In a Middle Eastern country, consider this factor please, consumer behavior is a little different (But do not predict/assume everything there is to the extreme as displayed by the media today). P.S. I know it is really disgusting so mentioning that wont help. Please answer with a response in shape of any marketing tool. Either a complete strategy, or variation of a single marketing factor, etc. Thank You very much in advance.

A few months ago my friend said that she thought I would get along great with her friend who lives in another state. She gave me her friend's e-mail address so I contacted her and we immediately hit it off. We have been getting to know each other through e-mail, texting, and talking on the phone for over 2 months now and we have amazing conversations and an obvious connection. Just last week she told me that she was traveling to my state for business and we have decided to meet and although we have not it's a date, we both know it will be our first date. I am planning on picking her up and driving up to the town I just recently moved away from, it is where I went to college and lived for over 6 years. Those were the best years of my life and I thought that giving her a tour of my favorite places and talking about my experiences would be a great way for us to spend our first day together.....what do you guys think? I am obviously a nervous about this meeting because we have both really built it up and this is the deciding factor on whether we take the next step or just be friends. Do I keep the atmosphere of this date casual or try to make it a little romantic? I am planning on taking her out to dinner....do I go for a nice(expensive) restaurant or take her to the local college hangout where I use to go to all the time with my friends? Should I plan on spending the whole day with her or would that be too much too soon? Any other advice on how to keep it from getting awkward would be greatly appreciated!! I have 1 week and a lot of pressure to do this right so help a guy out..thanks.

Hey, I just have a question about dismissal from a small business (less than 15 full time employees) and the spousal factors involved. The situation is: A friend of mine has been in business with her husband for more than 15 years but she is not listed as a director and they have another partner. So her husband and the other guy are listed as directors and my friend (the wife) is an employee. Since they have commenced divorce proceedings, my friend has elected to take about 5 weeks of her holidays so that she didn't have to face her husband at work everyday as they were preparing court paperwork. However, she always had the intention to return to work when things settled down. I just found out that the second partner of the business (not the husband or wife) had lured my friend outside of the workplace to have coffee and fired her from the business, stating that it was for reasonable business grounds. She has not had any written warnings or a period to improve her performance. It is quite well known throughout the business that the other partner always sides with the husband and always backs his decisions and is 100% biased against the wife. After my friend called her husband, he played dumb and claimed that he had no knowledge of this termination even though all the termination of staff prior to this has always been a joint decision between the three of them. Is there a law in place that deals with one spouse terminating another spouse from a business during divorce when the obvious reason is they simply don't want them there and not because of their performance? Also, because this is a small business with under 15 employees, can my friend still apply for unfair dismissal? Any help would be great and I'm basing my advice to my friend on answers I get as whether to lodge an unfair dismissal claim or just get another lawyer. Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm from Australia and we are technically operating under the Fair Work Act 2009.

Considering hardcore Capitalism is a factor in American money-making, NFL will do anything to be better than all the other American sports, so yes, they make more money, but that's only because they need to keep up with competition. NFL needs to compete with NASCAR, MLB, and NBA. NFL is treated like a business, not a sport. FIFA is more focused towards the sport, rather than money. There is no other competition around the World besides soccer (aka real football). What else would men watch in Spain and Italy? Nothing but real football. Even though I won't say it, me and everyone else can say American football isn't a good sport, because you know why? Even with all that money, 19 teams NFL teams worth more than $1 billion, it is still not even close to being the World's most popular sport, that is hilarious. So another proof than even though Capitalism is somewhat successful, money isn't everything, especially when you're talking about sports. Cheer Girl: You make an interesting point, but read my last line of this question. again cheer girl, i told you, money doesn't really matter in sports. Cheer girl, I am not implying that money is not valuable, in fact, FIFA probably spends more than NFL, but the fact is, American football is solely dedicated to making a profit, so they can be better than NASCAR. FIFA wants to build more safer environments for kids to play footy around the world. If I lived in South America, I could go outside and find a game of soccer, and no money was really put into that, that is sport, whether it's professional or amateur. Jonah: I can say it to T.O. and he wouldn't care, becaues he's more focused on making money and publicity, but he's cool still :P oh, and Jonah, I've watched American football from 7 years old until now, so 11 years, yeah I've seen enough. Sam: NFL is treated like a business, they want your money by using other companies to do so. Real football is not like that, they are so chill, they don't need money to get your attention, just the sport will get your attention around the world. and btw, for everyoen who said NFL is trying to be the best, here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUV4YKbiVxQ btw that commercial is really dumb. Jonah: wait what? anyways, i don't really check any of my answers you know, so what i said here should imply to everything else. I really didn't say anything bad to football players really, I just said girls soccer is more committed, I guess in some ways it is true actually.

I run an employment agency which began in October 08. Our first year turnover was £885,000 Our turnover this year to end September is estimated to be £1.5 million. Next financial year £2-2.5 million. Assets of £40,000 and equity in two properties of £40000. Our gross margin is 10%. We currently have factoring in place but i would like to change to an overdraft facility. What do you think a reasonable overdraft would be and will the bank consider it as we are in debt? I have £90000 factored and a VAT bill of £80000 outstanding. The business has only become profitable since February when our turnover increased. Our gross margin will increase to 15% on October 1st.

whenever I ask a question i notice people are not answering the question they simply refer me to this website. First of all I know these work at home sites are scams. who is really going to pay me 1000 usd a week to do data entry if they never even talked to me in person. If I am going to make money on my own I need to have ideas of services that people need such as Tutoring English to foreigners, Fixing peoples computers, and cooking for those who feel they do not have time to prepare their own meals and are tired of eating fastfood. I know when it comes to starting a business it is more of what services you can offer then money you need. It really does not cost anything to tutor a person in English. it does not cost me anything to fix someones computer. sewing buttons or mending shoes i just need needles and thread and some glue. I know that everyone has a skill they can market it is just many do not know how to, Do not have the ability to stick through it, or feel they will fail at it. I feel that the only way to succeed at something is to keep on trucking. There are more opportunities now then there have ever been. People say no one is hiring. High turnover jobs are always high turnover. I understand that when people say there are no jobs available they are referring to those that pay wages that can support a family. When I look at job sites I look at all the listings. I do not know of any employer who wants to be deluged with calls and emails asking for employment if he is not looking to hire someone. Time is just precious as money. I also understand it is harder for certain groups to find jobs then others. According to my research the unemployment rate is lowest for Caucasians then any other race. Education is also a factor. Just graduating high school raises the rate of unemployment. I understand when it comes to race it is very unfair but when I hear how many African Americans and latinos talk i am not interested in having them work for me. I hear them cursing all the time and I have a feeling they talk that way on interviews. I also know some attitudes are poor for jobs. I understand age is a big factor. I know most employers prefer workers between 25 and 40. I am guessing they feel they are less likely to get injured sick or call out. In many fields I understand women are more likely t be disciminated against. I know most employers would rather have a male stock shelves or push carriages. I know that when choosing cashiers they want younger workers. When i go to the Supermarket I try to have someone young ring me up because I feel they would be faster. I also understand younger workers in the eyes of employers are easier to train, more flexible. Older workers are more set in their ways. I also know certain body types are considered more. Most customer service jobs are held by young attractive employees over someone who is obese. I understand that disabled workers have difficulty because employers might think they are going to be slow to learn a new skill. When i go to the Supermarket I would prefer not to have a Disabled person bag my groceries because i fear they will drop something or take longer. I also know that jobs will go to the person most qualifies and many times the only ones who will apply for that type of position is a Disabled person. I am not meaning to be prejudice but it is an observation I have made I also feel people are too pessimistic. I would rather hire someone who jsut considers the economic situation a reason to improve his interviewing skills as opposed to someone who thinks the world will fall apart. Rather then have 9 percent unemployment. we have 90% employment rate. I also know that unemployment is due to many reasons not just layoffs. I know many will not take the first job offered if they are on unemployment. i know a large portion of the unemployed are those who are actively looking for work who are yet still employed. Many are unemployed because they left willingly. i am unemployed because I left my job on my own not because I was fired or laid off. I look casually for jobs as i am going to be a student. i know I really dislike commiting to a job when i prefer variety. I enjoy freelancing more then working for someone else.

Former employees of a shuttered California auto plant sued the factory and Toyota Motor Corp. on Wednesday, claiming they were denied fair severance packages because injuries kept them off the job in the months leading to the facility's closure. The suit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Oakland, seeks a revised severance agreement, restitution, lost compensation, other employee benefits and monetary damages. The lawsuit also seeks class-action status. Lawyers claim that about 300 of the 4,700 employees who lost their jobs when the Fremont-based New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., or Nummi, closed April 1 may be affected. Many of the laid-off employees, who assembled Toyota cars and trucks. Employees who worked continuously in the six months before the plant's closure also received enhancements based on years of service and other factors. Tony Lawson, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, said the enhancements added an average of $32,000 to an employee's severance agreement, so denying those who were on disability leave during that six-month period translated to a huge loss for the worker. "Some of these people had worked there 25 years and were injured in the last six months," Lawson said. "We allege they're being discriminated against with respect to their severance because of their disability." The lawsuit also claims that disabled workers were not allowed to take advantage of some employment services such as career and skills assessments, and they were refused employment when they attempted to go back to work after a doctor said it was OK. Nummi spokesman Lance Tomasu said the company doesn't typically comment on pending litigation, however, the factory "has always prided itself on treating its team members with respect and fairness and we believe we've done so in this situation." Toyota spokesman Rick Hesterberg did not immediately return a message seeking comment. The Nummi plant was established in 1984 as a joint venture between General Motors Co. and Toyota. GM made the Pontiac Vibe there but withdrew from the alliance last year after filing for bankruptcy protection. Toyota made the Corolla sedan and Tacoma pickup at the plant but said it could not sustain the factory without GM and warned Nummi it would shutter operations. Besides the jobs lost at the factory, the closure devastated thousands of others whose businesses were made servicing and supplying the plant and its workers. Nearly 8 million vehicles were built at the sprawling facility at the southern edge of San Francisco Bay before it closed. New hope has been injected in the area with two recent announcements, however. Tesla Motors Inc. said it was purchasing the plant to build its Model S electric sedan and collaborate with Toyota on an electric vehicle that will combine a high-volume Toyota vehicle with a Tesla electric powertrain. The federal government also said it would provide $19 million in emergency grants to help workers who lost their jobs when Nummi closed. Would this have been so easy to do if they were in a Union?

Scientific studies have been done on the distinct mindsets between liberals and conservatives. Here are a few interesting excerpts from an article on the Psychology Today website. "Most people are surprised to learn that there are real, stable differences in personality between conservatives and liberals—not just different views or values, but underlying differences in temperament." "The study used political orientation as a dependent variable, meaning that where subjects fall on the political scale is computed from their own answers about whether they're liberal or conservative. The findings are quintessentially empirical and difficult to dismiss as false." On liberals: As kids, liberals had developed close relationships with peers and were rated by their teachers as self-reliant, energetic, impulsive, and resilient. [They] are higher on openness, which includes intellectual curiosity, excitement-seeking, novelty, creativity for its own sake, and a craving for stimulation like travel, color, art, music, and literature. Multiple studies find that liberals are more optimistic. [They] are more likely to like classical music and jazz, conservatives, country music. Liberal men like romantic comedies more than conservative men. Liberal women are more likely than conservative women to enjoy books, poetry, writing in a diary, acting, and playing musical instruments. Liberals are messier than conservatives, their rooms have more clutter and more color, and they tend to have more travel documents, maps of other countries, and flags from around the world. Liberals have more books, and their books cover a greater variety of topics. Liberals... are "more likely to see gray areas and reconcile seemingly conflicting information." As a result, liberals like John Kerry, who see many sides to every issue, are portrayed as flip-floppers. On conservatives: People who were conservative at age 23 had been described by their teachers as easily victimized, easily offended, indecisive, fearful, rigid, inhibited, and vulnerable at age 3. Conservatives have a greater desire to reach a decision quickly and stick to it, and are higher on conscientiousness, which includes neatness, orderliness, duty, and rule-following. Those who think the world is highly dangerous and those with the greatest fear of death are the most likely to be conservative. Conservatives are more likely to be religious. Conservative men are more likely than liberal men to prefer conventional forms of entertainment like TV and talk radio. Conservatives are neater, and their rooms are cleaner, better organized, more brightly lit, and more conventional. ...The more educated people are, the more liberal they become—but only to a point. Once people begin pursuing certain types of graduate degrees, the curve flattens. Business students, for instance, become more conservative in their views toward minorities. As they become more established, doctors and lawyers tend to protect their economic interests by moving to the right. The findings demonstrate that conservative conversions are fueled not only by fear, but by other factors as well. http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200612/the-ideological-animal

I'm very interested in a specific storefront. In fact, I won't open my business this year unless I get that spot, due to irrelevant factors. The owner was a little slow getting back to me because someone else is already seriously considering the space and will make their final decision this week. I'm almost positive the owner will rent to them even if I agree to much more attractive terms because she's a small business owner herself. Is there anything else I could do to convince her to choose me without feeling unethical, like perhaps presenting her with better proof of financing or a better business plan?

My ex-bestfriend told my girlfriend that I shouldn't be trusted and that I hit a girl. I explain to my girlfriend that the trust factor was a misunderstanding that he doesn't want to even talk about it. Now she asks why did I hit a girl. This is what she said: Ok things are clear and I know its none of my business but im just a nosey person which is something you'll have to deal with lol I hate it when people mumble as well. And im not hating on Erin but she seems like one of those girls that goes like 'omg what did he say bout me' an like 'omg r u serious I dont even like him' But why'd you hit her? This is what I responded: It wasn’t Erin, it was her friend. There wasn’t a right reason for the way I acted and I admit it was stupid of me to react poorly, but these were the reasons why I acted the way I did. After Jonathan ran off, I got mad because I knew drama was going to happen and it did. I raised my voice, asking Erin why did she had and go tell him what I said to her (which ruined the friendship between Jonathan and I because of the misunderstanding from what she said). Her friend then got involved and told me to hug and apologize to Erin for raising my voice. Erin didn’t accept the hug and apology because my expression didn’t look sincere to her, and I was about to walk away to find Jonathan until her friend kicked me in the balls. I turned around in pain and then asked her why she had to kick me in the balls. I don’t remember what she said then or what I said after, but I slapped her and gave her a slight push to get her off of me. I wouldn’t have normally reacted like that, but she was putting salt on the wounds and by kicking my sensitive area it made me reacted very poorly. Later on after things cooled off, I went over to her and apologized to her directly. She didn’t accept it, so I walked away. I still feel guilty for the 5 days as of now, I know what I did was wrong, and the worst part is I can’t do anything to fix my mistake. I learned from it very well and I just want to move forward.

I am a full time student currently at Rice University as an undergrad. I also work as a teller for a major bank. I have been with the bank for two years now and will have been there for almost 5 years when I graduate. I previously worked as a salesman at circuit city for two years. I was looking into Rice University's Business school and saw that a experience is a major factor in your application. I was wondering if my work experience is legit experience. Also i was looking for any suggestions that could improve my odds of getting accepted.

My ex-best friend went and told my girlfriend that I shouldn't be trusted and that I hit another girl. I cleared up the trust factor to her and now she wants me to explain why did I hit her. This is my response to hitting her: It wasn’t Erin, it was her friend. After I saw Jonathan storming off because of what Erin has told him. I felt upset because Erin has provoked our friendship. Because I got upset, I let it out with a groan of distress because I didn’t want drama to happen and its happening. I raised my voice and told Erin that why did she had to go off and tell him that. I was about to walk off and find Jonathan to tell him that I never said that he wanted to kiss Erin and I didn’t tell her what his gift was, but then her friend wanted to be a part of the drama and told me I shouldn’t of yelled at Erin. She wanted me to go over to her and give her a hug then apology. I got rid of the distress with a deep breath and I went over. I was about to give her a hug then I apologized. She said that I didn’t mean it because of the look on my expression. I was being sincere with my apology, but of course I’m still mad that she made my friend pissed off. I was about to walk away again, but her friend kicked me in the balls. That was much uncalled for and I was still was mad. I turned around then firmly gripped her shoulder and asked her why would she kick me in the balls. I don’t remember what she said or what I said, but she was talking violently and then I slapped her and I pushed her back. It wasn’t that hard of a slap and I only pushed her back enough so she can be away from me. Later on after I chilled, I went over to her and apologized to her directly. She didn’t accept it, so I walked away. I still feel guilty for the 5 days as of now and I know what I did was wrong. What I said doesn’t matter because I hit a girl. I can’t do anything to change it.

My ex best friend told my girlfriend that I shouldn't be trusted and I hit a girl. She asekd about the trust factor and I explained it to her.
