I had bought a used car from a local car repair garage with a down payment and agreement to pay monthly until the balance was satisfied for the purchase. I have completed the payments all on time. Is there some way I can have this reported to the credit bureaus and how do I go about it?

Hi,
I have been desperate to move out of my terraced house all year. we moved in in January 2009, and we have had countless problems with the property. Damp, unproffessional letting agents, rodents, gas leaks etc. It has been so stressful, but we have found it difficult to get the time to move.
I viewed a flat on monday with my partner who i currently lived with, we really loved it, it was perfect. We both work (I, part time and my partner full time) I am also a full time student and i get maintenance money to help with my living costs when i return to study in september.
The letting agents said that the property is ours 'subject to references'. I paid the admin fee (£120.00 for both of us, so £60.00 each, which having viewed properties all year has been one of the lowest charges yet).
I am concerned if we will be approved for the property due to me and my partner moving into new jobs only a matter of 2 months ago.
They carried out the credit check on me whilst i was there, they said i have a very high score. I know my reference will be good from our letting agents as we have paid regularly and not done any damage to the property (im a little concerned however, that because they are so unproffessional they often got fed up of me reporting the countless issues with the property, and worried they might bad mouth me for that? we also do not get on with the landlord becuase he has refused to carry out repairs and refused to let the letting agent carry out repairs on his behalf).
We don't have pets, children nor do we smoke.
However, when we mentioed the length of time we have been in our current jobs (me, 5 weeks, my partner, 2 months) they were a little bit funny about it which i can understand. We have worked before this however, we just switched jobs.
With all the above information, what are the chances of them letting us rent this property? the only negative point is the length of time we have been in our current jobs. We will be made permanent after 13 weeks (which is about 4 weeks away for my partner and 8 weeks away for me) we are hard workers and i have never been refused to be made permanent in a job after my probation period.
They said they need to obtain references from our employers too, what do they ask employers?
If people with experience in letting could ease my mind i would be very grateful. we have had a terrible experience in this property, and it would be a dream come true if we could move to the flat we have seen.
Thank you.

I need to get my hands on $1300, like today. I have an emergency car repair and do NOT have the money to pay for it! I have no way to borrow from anyone else and since my credit is shot, banks would laugh at me. I hate to say it, but is a payday loan my only option? I will be able to pay this money back in FULL by next pay. Any advice from someone who has been here before?
Wow guys, thanks.....those are some seriously great answers. I'll get on the street ASAP.

OK. I am in WILSON, NC. My FH and I went and looked at a house today, it is a HUD home, list price is 120,000, but with all the repairs I don't see it being worth that. It may be worth half of that.
Im under 18, he would be the signer on the loan, his credit score is 572, and nothing on his credit score is less than 6 years old.
How would we go about getting that house?
Oh and We have no money for a downpayment sue to some recent, but resolved money management.
PLEASE HELP!! I don't want to lose this house.
I didn't RUIN his credit, his MOM did, when he was 18, WITHOUT his permission.
We have NO debt, even the Equerian place says that. Don't be such downers. Just give advice and help. Not everyone has a downpayment, and i read that there are places where I live that give DPM Assistance.
Will a FHA loan place work with him?
572 not 527, and we aren't looking to pay full price for the house, it needs REPAIRS!! like a new roof and shit, and Age doesn't make maturity, just look at YOU!

My wife and I are starting to do our research on buying a home. We're looking to buy in a year or two. Right now, we're focusing on saving and getting our credit shored up. We don't have a ton of money, and are considering buying a fixer-upper. Is it possible (and if so, 'how' possible) to get a home loan for an amount that includes the sale price, plus extra for repairs?
KL: What kind of properties qualify for 203(k) FHA Loans? What type of individuals qualify? Does a home have to be in a low income neighborhood to qualify? I checked out some websites but can't get the specs I need. Any links would be greatly appreciated. :)

An EEI is an invoice created for the company after a vendor is unable to repair merchandise under our current warranty.
- See, it's good under our warranty and the damage is covered by our warranty because it's a software issue but it is unable to be fixed because it's a software issue that cannot be fixed, therefore they have to issue us credit. I don't know if this sentence makes it seem like it's not covered under our warranty. Is there an way we can make it sound like it is. I can't seem to find the right words. Or do you think it's solid. I just want to get to the point without adding this whole long paragraph.

Im going to lay down what happened and I would appreciate your opinion. It started when my 2007 gs eclipse clutch gave out the dealership close to my house wasn't a very professional looking place when it came to their shop they mistreated the cars that where there and had old rusted cars parked in their lot. So, I did not want to get it repaired there, I made a big fuss with mitsubishi but after sitting the car in my lot for 2 months I lost my job and I had to get it fixed there anyway cause of warranty issues and I needed my car to look for another job i'm a truck driver that's why it took 2 months and my car had 7000 miles on it i hardly ever used it. I noticed that after I had it back the cruise control wasn't working I didn't take it back because of the fear of something worse happening to it. My mom suggested that I get repair by my cousins husband so my mom handed me her cell phone called him and told me to bring it in the morning because he worked all day til 7pm and if i couldn't get to him to leave the key under the plant in front of the garage door (that call was on 6-24-09). I tried to get there early enough (6-25-09) but i missed him and no one was home so I placed the key under the plant and left I told the police officer that I had made a call to him after dropping the key but the phone number to reach him was on my moms cell phone. I thought I did I couldn't remember because I came back a day later for the car. After I walked home I thought id leave it there a day so he could find the problem, since he gets home at 7pm. When I got there on 6-26-09 my car wasn't there and they said they never saw it there so i called the police to see if it was towed it wasn't and the key wasn't there either, police came over and took my statement but on the report he stated that the car was stolen on 6-26-09 and the phone number I used to call to tell them I was leaving the car there was written down wrong. The insurance company said that the inconsistencies where that I did not use my cell to make a phone call on the 6-24-09 or 6-25-09 I told them that i used my mothers cell phone in the oath recorded meeting they recorded my statement a week after i reported my car stolen and i failed to tell them i used my mothers cell phone but they didn't ask and I also told them I called when I placed the key under the plant but I was confused because I had called my cousin twice on 6-24-09. I never failed to make a payment on any of my bills and i have good credit score I'm in fact almost done with my car payment. They also brought to my attention that I tried to sell the car but i have proof that i've been trying to sell my car since 2008 and there was a buyer and i have his emails that offered to buy my car with a $1000.00 profit for me. please tell me what do think i should do about this situation?
ans. 1l: I got a loan from the bank to purchase the car in jan 1-07 ans 2: I have full coverage still paying the monthly payments from insurance theft, comprehensive bank would not give me the loan otherwise ans 3:car was parked on public street in front of my cousins house I locked and windows where rolled up car had automatic lock after 5 mins also. ans 4: My cousins house has a fenced in lawn the entrance to access the lawn and to the front door is through the drive way in front of the car garage door I heard that if its a fenced in lawn your allowed to release your dog in the front lawn so I think its private ans 5 & 6: I called the police 6pm 6-26-09 I did not manage to get police info but im sure its in the report ans 7: I did get a police report insurance company asked for and I provided right away but it seems they only gave me the first page. Also the car was never recovered so its not certain they used the key my cousin has little kids that could of found it first.

I know my credit is not perfect and I am currently working on it to repair it. However, I know I will be needing to get another car sometime after the first of the year. Can I still get financing at the dealership even if I don't have the most perfect credit score?

Hi,
Ive been desperate to move out of my current property all year, we have had a total nightmare; damp, rats, boiler breaking, gas leaks etc. We currently rent through a letting agent, who act on behalf of the landlord, however the landlord is really bad and advises them not to carry out repairs, he even managed to get hold of my mobile number last year and gave me some abusive phone calls!
Bit of back ground there! just to emphasise just how much we need to get out!
Me and my partner finally found a flat yesterday with a letting agents who have a great reputation. They carried out my credit check and said it was great, they just needed to get references from both me and my partners employers, and our current letting agent.
They said its ours subject to our references, but i really cannto understand what they would be asking an employer? My partner says its so they can verify you work there and how much you earn? Im not bad at my job, both me and my partner have very new jobs and have only worked for the companies we work for for a couple of months, just curious as to what they need to ask?
I have always paid rent on time and in full the whole time i have been at this property, so im not too concerned about my reference form them, but my current letting agency are very unproffessional and see me as a pain in the neck as ive followed correct legal procedures to get work done in the property, what exactly do they ask your current agency?
If any one who has experience in letting, and letting agencies please respond :) Im curious as its subject to our references we get this property, and after all the problems we have had here we need to get out!
Thank you.

I am currently paying off my debts but I don't have any open loans or credit cards or anything on my credit report. What is the best way to rebuild my credit as I'm repairing it. I have a horrible credit score so I don't know what to do.

Okay everyone-- here's my story. Get some popcorn.
My husband and I own our home and have been going to college. He just graduated and got a fantastic job making good money. I graduate in December and am contracted to work as soon as I graduate (RN). Needless to say, we struggled for a few years to pay our bills and we damaged our credit specically in the last year. Its pretty bad, so please don't make me feel worse then I already do.
1. 4 30 day late payments on my mortgage.
2. 9000 dollars in credit debt with a limit of 10,000 (thats a whopping 90% debt)
3. 4 accounts in collections each for 50 dollars
4. 437 in one charge in collections which I am disputing due to this is from when my bank card was stolen
5. One active credit card has a 30, 60 and 90 day late due to me thinking the card was paid off and I didnt pay it.
Then we have student loan debts (50,000) and our Car loans which have no lates.
Needless to say our credit plummited from 680 last year to 500! I am horrified and have cried over this. I am not financially irresponsible, the stress of both of us graduating college, we had a baby, and my mother is dying made this a HARD year. Enough of my sob story.
If anyone can give me guidance on where to start to fix this mess. I plan on starting to pay the credit debt down. How do I handle the collections? How do I get late payments off my credit report?
The reason I am so upset-- we need to move in a year and half due to my husbands job. We have to move to Washington DC. I am hoping that I can get our credit up to 680-ish so we can get a home loan. Any advice would help. Am I nuts to think I can do this kind of improvement in a year and half?
Please Help! A family in PA who want to get our lives back on track need some advice. Thanks!
I am annoyed by the person stating we were greedy. I am not asking to be passed judgement. We pay taxes and have gotten college degrees in noble professions. Our cars are used, not new. I do not pass judgement on you, so please keep the personal opinions to yourself. I am looking for advice. I, as a nurse, would never judge you for your reasons for seeking healthcare, therefore do not judge me for seeking help on credit repair.

My Nokia 5310's vibrate keeps breaking and I'm due a credit note for the store now. The thing is, I really like this phone and it's not in stock now... Should I just get it repaired now, or take the credit note and get the newer 6303?
Do any of you have the 6303? Is it good? Better than 5310?
There's no Sony Ericssons I like in the price range :(

I have a 2007 Cheverolet cobalt that i currentl owe 4,800 which is currernt trade in value for my car in excellent condition. only problem is my car has a lot of recalls on it and most mechanics say the repairs are costly. Due to the fact that Iam a college student, I was wodering would it be smart to trade in this car? Especially if I have one year to pay on it, but the car is useless but my credit is horrible! please help!
Its not under warranty anymore and I keep taking it to these cheverolet dealerships and they kee[ saying that my VIN number isnt in the recall stack. The problem is that its the power steering that is messed, I almost was in two accidents due to this. The lowest quote I have gotten is 400.00 to fix it and then they say its no guarantee that it wont happen again due to the power steering being an electrical issue.

In December 2009 my 6 year old pug Dunkin decided to squeeze under the fence in the back yard into the neighbors yard. The result was that my neighbors dog, a Chow Shepard mix, attacked him. She actually is a very sweet dog to people, but is very territorial and didn't care for him entering her property. We have been in this house for 2 years and he has never gotten out before.
I immediately rushed him to the vet, where they took an x-ray, bandaged him up (charged me $180) and told us to take him to the emergency vet clinic about 20 minutes away b/c they couldn't help him.
At the emergency vet clinic they gave him some pain meds and opened up his wound to assess the injuries. After waiting there for about two hours I was told to go home and they would call me after while when he was stable to give me more information. About 1am that night, I awoke to a phone call from the ER telling me that it appeared that his injuries were pretty serious and more than they could handle. At the time my choice was to put him down or take him to a special surgeon an hour away and see if they could help. I elected to take him to the surgeon b/c I was not willing to give up on my little guy just like that.
The next morning at 8am I picked him up from the clinic and took him to the specialist (the clinic insisted on keeping him over night to keep him on pain meds and in IV). When I picked him up he didn't open his eyes and was hooked up to an IV bag and a catheter. I carried him to the car after paying this ER vet another $1800 for his over night stay and medication.
The specialist was very nice and took great care of my little guy. He was in pretty bad shape and had to have several surgeries to repair the damage to his leg. He also became endemic and required a blood transfusion. He was in the hospital for over a week, but he pulled through. He came home right before Christmas. He was still very sore and swollen and unable to walk, however he was alive and that was all I cared about. The bill for this care came to about $3,900 from this clinic putting my total cost at just under $6,000.
I was only able to pay for his care by putting the $6,000 on my credit card. Needless to say, I am still struggling to pay the bill each month.
I love my dog and if I had to do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same.
I'm just wondering if there are any charities out there that might help by giving me some of this expense back? I tried to google the situation, but each charity I've found will only help if you make under $20,000 a year and I make about $45,000. I realize that to some that is a decent salary, however I have plenty of expenses including a mortgage, car payment and student loans. I have always been very responsible with my credit and didn't have any credit card debt until this situation happened. Also from what I've read, most charities only assist by paying the vet directly and in my case I've already paid the bill. I'm just trying to see if I can re-coop some of the cost to pay my credit card down or off.
I have all the bills and pictures of my little guy showing how bad his injuries were.
I'm just looking for a bit of help if possible.
DeeDawg, it's not my motorcycle in the pic. I have sold a ton of stuff already, but nothing worth $6,000. Mostly old electronics and stuff on ebay which didn't make more than $20-50 a pop. All the money was paid to my credit card however, but I still owe about $5,000
I realize there are others less fortunate than me and I'm not looking for pity, just thought I would ask if anyone knew where I could get some help if it was even possible

We recently moved into a older house that had been renovated and had a master bed/bath build on. Well we moved in and in the renovated main part of the house, none of the walls had been painted, and the place hadn't been cleaned it was filthy, both from previous tenant and construction. Landlord gave us a $200 credit to clean, said to save the bills. The front and back doors as well have large cracks you can see daylight, even feel a breeze if wind is up, we have actually seen snails (yes the big fat gray slimy bugs) come through these cracks in the door frame, it needs weather stripping. Once the new rooms were "completed" we noticed that the new bathroom had no toilet paper holder, towel racks, or anything. The heater was installed upside down in the bathroom so that the hot air blew directly down onto the floors.
The new bedroom the windows were trimmed on the bottom only so that we had jagged edges around the windows, the through the wall AC unit was neither trimmed out or insulated, we can see daylight through where it is installed. We asked the builder about the trim he said he wasn't going to do it. The stairs are bare 2x4 no carpet, not even a coat of paint. Landlord was there a few weeks ago and saw all these repairs, plus pointed out some himself. Landlord said if we would do the repairs to send him the bills. So my question is can we legally charge him labor to do all these things that should have been done by the person he paid to do the work? Doesn't seem right that because we do it he gets the labor for free. Is that what he meant by save the bills? But I want to do it legally. I live in Virginia and it's a single family home. I would appreciate any serious answers or help. Thanks a bunch in advance.
I dont know if he agreed to or not is the thing, he said "send me the bills" well bills can be read in a few different ways.
Thanks Chatsplas. I will check with the landlord and see what he meant. As for why we moved in, we looked at the house while it was being renovated it was looking good, we signed the lease with the agreemet we'd have an additional walk through before possession. We did wak through and landlord gave us th option to paint and clan ouselves and he'd credit us or he'd hire someone. For the painting I didnt want white walls anyway so that wasnt a huge issue. The addition was supposed to be finished by June 1 when we took possession, this was 1st of May we did walk through, but if addition wasn't complete fr some reason, we'd have $200 credit until it was. Well finaly just before July 1st (my guess he was told get it done by the 1st or else cause he didnt wanna give another credit) But by that time we were aready there and commited. We like the place but dont feel we should fix an incopatent workers work for free.
No way paint, trim, carpet, weatherstripping costs $200??? Are you kidding? Where do you live?? We spent $197.56 on trim for 3 windows, AC unit, and door, bathroom fixtures, weatherstripping for 2 doors. And we both the cheapest we could find of everythng. Weatherstripping alone was $60 And the $200 was a credit for us having to clean when we moved in. And even for that he said I'l give you a $200 cleaning credit, and send me th reciets for your supplies (cleaning) which I didnt, I already had them.

I heard about a credit repair service in the Woodlands called Impeccable credit. For a flat rate of 750$, they promise to repair discrepancies on you credit report and raise your credit score. The establishment has been there for some time and seems legit, but before I seriously consider proceeding with their services, I would like to know has anyone in the Houston area actually had any success with this company on is it just too good to be true.

I had a good score over a year ago, and now it's gotten bad.
Through a series of small mishaps, and a card with a too-high revolving balance
it has gone down.
I need advice about a good place to go based on 3 things:
1) price of consulting them
2) good customer service/customer relations
3) success rate with other clients
Thanks!
Also, I live in the southeast region (so it helps to have names of companies that don't only exist somewhere else, lol)

Since I have began to understand my mother I have learned her primary reason for being are the $$$. She will scam or lie to anyone to get what she wants. She has ruined my credit by getting credit cards in my name at 18, phones in my name, etc. I did not want to press charges bc she is my mom. I am 27 still repairing the damage she did.
I am now living with her bc my fiance and I just moved back to TX. We are both working; her rent is $875 and we pay $600. We also pay the water bill and cable and internet. Now my mother whom is ill hasn't worked but seems to always have money plus her bf gives her money. I just found out she was getting extended unemployment at $329 a week. However, she doesnt know that I know this.
Today she asked me for $100 to get cleaning supplies and and stuff. I told her no because my fiance and I are moving out. She goes into this long tantrum about not having any bleach, and how no one cares that she is broke, etc. etc. Everytime we give her money she goes and spends it on something else like jewelry, handbags, spa days, and crap like that! Then we have to wind up paying her waaaaay past due bills. I am tired of her constantly using myself and my family.
What should I do?

In 2005, my mother lost her home to foreclosure. She asked me to sign papers so that she would not loose the home. In essence, I purchased the home with my good credit so she could continue to live in the home. In June 2010, she was hospitalized and I took the opportunity to prepare the home for her return. I always knew that my mother was never tidy but the home was an absolute mess and will require repairs that run from 8-10K. She agreed to move to an apartment close to my sister and I so that we could care for her (she will always require someone to care from her). However, now she refuses to move. I am afraid that if I allow her to continue to stay in the house the home will most likely continue to deteriorate and I am afraid that this will negatively affect me more financially in the long run. Also, if she does not move closer to us her well being will be in jeopardy. My question is, do I have a right as the person with the name on the mortgage to have her removed from the house? She has always paid the mortgage payment and was late only twice in the 5 years. Will I need legal counsel for my situation? If so, what kind of legal counsel?

I signed a paper and gave $200 on credit card (in NJ) for new car. I signed on Weds. July 21. Car had a scratch on it & dealer is sending to bodyshop to fix and says I can pickup on Weds. July 28.
Question really is: Can I back out of the deal if I dont like the repair ? Am I bound by the paper I signed even though I didnt take delivery ? Im sure I can get my $200 back from AX (they are real good about that stuff) but someone told me you only have 7 days to back out after signing.

He's been ordered to pay support to her and she's allowed to stay in the house. However, my step dad is telling the attorney's that he's planning on filing for bankruptcy. My mother said that her attorney said she'd be responsible for the house payment if he does file. My mother is very sick, wants to stay in her own home and has asked me to come stay with her. I'll be able to afford the house payment and bills, but my credit isn't the greatest to qualify for a home loan. My question is, as long as I continue to make the payment on behalf of my mom...will she be able to keep it? I've started doing repairs and etc to the home, but I dont want to put too much money into it if she's going to lose the house.

If you settle a debt for a lower amount than you owe, is that still looked at as bad??Im trying to repair my credit and although im told that paying off old debts does not really improve your score im trying to pay them off because im looking into trying to purchase my first home in a few years.Someone told me if i settle that it still does not look good because i did not pay back in full. Ill appreciate any feedback espically if you work in the industry where you have to look at peoples credit report to determine whether they qualify. Thanks alot

I want to buy a house and real estate agents always send me to someone else for loan info and then THAT person NEVER calls me back after getting my information! I have tried three now. I need to know who to contact who will help me work on getting loan approval (because I need to do some credit repair). Will anyone ever actually HELP me learn what to work on.

After shop had car 25 days without fixing my car, I opted to have the dealer fix it. The repair shop demanded cash before they would release it, not fixed. Is this legal to demand cash after they have accepted my CC and personal check in the past? If I offer a form of payment they accept is my obligation fulfilled?

I'm trying to fix my credit. So far, I got a secured credit card and am only putting 20% a month on and then paying it off immediately. I am thinking of asking my mom to put me on her credit card as an authorized user because my mom not only has a $12,000 credit card with only $200 on it, but amazing credit. I don't want to use the card.....just tag along for the good credit points I'll get. Does this sound like a quick way to fix my credit? Also, is there anything else I can do to quickly fix it? I should mention that a lot of my debts on the credit reports are 4 to 5 years old and mainly medical debt.

My aunt lives in a house she can in no way afford to fix. It needs alot of major repair like floor in bathroom needs to be replaced. There is mold in basement. It's a pretty old house and she survives only on SSI. What can she do to move out and rid herself of it? She is not late on her mortgage and would like to not go into foreclosure and ruin her credit. What about selling it? What if she owes more than it's appraised at?

First to whomever reads this it is a bit lengthy but i'm extremely baffled.
I am a 25 year old part time college student living at home and i'm currently employed as a server. 8% of my sales are automatically declared on my checks as part of a deal with the IRS(8% sales or credit card tips whichever is higher). I have a 748 credit score with no debt and no bills/loans on my credit report. I have almost 3 years of credit history with 3 active credit cards totaling $7,100. I have never made a late payment, i'm always early actually. Also I am a first time car buyer.
My current check-stubs show $1,471.16/month. I also have my W2's from the last two years which show just under $1800/month on the eldest and $1970/month last years. I have all my paychecks from the past 3 years and after comparison they are all pretty much the same(meaning the paychecks are nearly identical based on the previous pay dates - My first check in July was like a clone of last years July check etc).
I have now tried five times to get an auto-loan with zero luck. I do not have a co-signer by the way.
The denial I just received this morning has me completely baffled. It is my actual bank and I requested a loan for $24,000 previously for a Toyota Tacoma. Note: My credit score was only 739 that time and I didn't offer to put anything down. I was approved for $10,000 without a co-signer and $17,000 with one. Knowing that getting anything in the over $20,000 range won't happen until I get a different job, I opted for a Kia Soul. I found a brand new one for $14,000 that already had tags. This time my credit score was 748, same deal no debt or dings, I offered to put $1,200 down, and I was approved for $12,000 with a "really good co-signer".
I am so lost it's crazy, my head just hurts trying to figure this out. Am I supposed to buy a cheap, busted up vehicle and make a terrible investment in order to get a loan for a good investment? By the time I pay for the inevitable repairs on a vehicle with 60k+ miles the amount invested would probably equal what I was asking for in the first place. I feel like i'm being punished for doing what is asked of by the credit industry.
Annoying note - My boss shows $2,200/month and just bought a Truck for $17,000, but the kicker is the place couldn't find his credit. It wouldn't appear in their system but they just gave it to him anyways.
So there is my wall of text, can anyone offer me any advice or anything, seriously anything at all?
I have 98% of my total credit free. I only use one of the 3 cards and it is for daily expenses only.
MadMan - I am a waiter, what shows up on my checks is not what I make. My checks show $1400 when in reality I make $2000-$2500/month($1800 is a very bad month). So asking for a loan that would require a payment $234/month is not over doing it.
Reena I stated multiple times that I pay off everything monthly. Out of a potential $7100 debt I carry only 2%-4% depending on the time of the month.
Thank you for the responses so far.

I am not old enough to get senior grants and I am on disability so I can't pay someone (and I have had calls from people willing to look for grants for me if I pay them money each month they search) to search for grants for me. I don't get enough money for a loan and have bad credit. I don't even have enough money to eat right let alone pay back a loan. I don't know how those television (like fix this house) work. They never say if you have to pay for it or if they do it. Anyway, I live where grant money is scarce and I could probably ask every celebrity out there for help and get no reply. I need a new roof and flooring as well as an electrical box for my dryer, also a new garage door. I live by myself and have advertised for a housemate but there is only one bedroom on main floor and the two upstairs are full of storage stuff and junk which I cannot get anyone to help fix them up for bedrooms. I need help! I don't know what the community guidelines are. I just know that I have been to county commissioner who sent me to department of development who had me fill out papers for(she said) a grant with the USDA Rural Development (they were loan papers and I was turned down. I wrote them myself and was told I wasn't old enough to get help from them and did not have enough money to pay back a low interest loan from them which I already knew or wouldn't be trying to find a grant).
In answer to one person who kindly answered my question. I have no family that can help me or I would have mentioned that in my question. If I did have family help I would not be looking for grant money to help. I was given this house by my step-mother long before she died because I have taken care of all my parents here until they died. This house was first my mother's who I watched die day by day at age 19-20 of lung cancer in 1977. According to papers I have found, my parents bought this house in 1972. My wish is to keep it as the family home and pass it on to my only child so that no one in my family (what little I have) will never have to worry about being homeless. Yes, there are community grants but I am having trouble with finding and getting them before the money is used up on people who have old metal plumbing and other things that are(in my eyes) less severe than a weakening roof.

Can a auto repair shop keep your vehicle if they failed to fix it more than a month later? The shop claims they did some things but it ultimately didn't work, still doesn't explain it taking a month. They also did not provide or fill out a work order form, only gave a receipt for 1/2 of estimate paid (no written agreement) and had credit card dispute payment since work hasn't been done and they seem incompetent to do so. Upon further research these people have numerous complaints w/ the BBB, numerous cases filed w/ the courts, and I'm wondering if they're using aka's too.
Oh yeah, they keep disconnecting their phone number, have been closed on days they're suppose to be open, keep running into numerous "customers" going through the same thing every time visited, and mechanics have quit due to non payment it seems!
This isn't happening to me, someone I know in Nevada. Any suggestions to help us against these shady*ss people, at this point we just want the vehicle back to go elsewhere and don't feel they deserve to be paid sh*t!?
They won't let him get his vehicle back, it's being held hostage! Not until a sum of $300+ is paid in cash for their attempt.
Please don't lecture me about doing my homework - as I stated it's not my car

I'm sure many others have been in my current situation: I've taken my car in for MOT and the bill is a little shy £300.
I didn't ask the garage to perform the repairs but I didn't ask them not to either.
I'm an apprentice student and temporarily on jobseekers allowance. Is there any way I can get ahold of some money to pay them off. If not, what will become of my car? Will it affect my credit rating?
Thanks in advance.
The work has already been carried out - if I can't pay will they just keep my car until further notice?

I recently financed a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. My credit score was about 653 MSRP price $17,845.00. I let the dealer turn in my lease which i had two months left on. Here is the break down
-Cost of the 2010 Hyundai-$17,845.00
- Final Cost down to -$14,000
-Dealer paid one of my last two lease payment-(291.00)
-Dealer fix my lease car to return for free( Estimate cost $450.00)
-Got an APR @ 3.90% down from 4.90@
-Rebate $2,500
When i got to the Finance office, it was a different story, they told me since i got the car @ below market price that i HAD to buy other stuff:
- Lojack for life-$807.00
-Maintenance and repair for life-$850.00
Final amount finance amout $15,402.00 @ 282 per month for 60months.
I intend to pay about $331.00 per month to pay off faster and not give them anymore than i have to .
Also when i do my taxes i am getting back about 80% for a new car purchase back.
I would like to know if this was a good deal or not because i am still not sure. i think i have buyer's remorse.
Thanks

I don't have the money for any of these options so whichever I choose is going on the credit card.

My husband and I are looking for a reasonably priced SUV with third row seating to get us by until next year. Our credit is in repair and we do not have a huge down payment. Most of the SUV's I have found are around 2003-2004 year with about 90000-115000 miles on them. Should we pass these up? Are high miles something to totally avoid?? What should I be on the look out for??
I'm aware that the interest rate is going to be outrageous, but until we can reestablish our credit we have to do what we have to do.

Received a certified letter, claiming I owed over $1700 on repair work etc for a car I traded in 5 years ago.The dealership I traded it into, auctioned it off.It made its way to Indiana,I live in Wisconsin, where it was towed into a repair place.I called the repair place and said I was not the owner and had traded it in 5 years ago.I got the feeling the lady did not believe me so I got our dealership involved .They will not for privacy reasons tell me the owner.I went back to the bank and got documentation that the car was paid off and the lien off.The paperwork was faxed to this repair place. The dealership explained to me how this happened, people go to these auctions and use the cars for illegal activity. They sign the title to each other never registering them , stealing plates and/or tags. Why find the owner? Because I want to make darn sure this never happens again.I need to protect my identity and my credit.Any suggestions to find the owner would be appreciated.

I got this jerk of a renter from Craiglist , CA. His room was a lot bigger , with windows looking onto an open space , so I thought this was a chance grab, I immediately paid him a holding fee ( he had to adjust this off my deposit + 1st months , when I moved in ) so I could prepare my move to this new place.
The saga started after this.
<> No keys : I asked him for keys to my room and house keys ..and he gave some shitty excuse why he could not give. So I learnt that the rule of the place was to get in through the back door or else the main door which they'd leave open. There were many such other incidences where essentially he told me off at 1 pt of time that "You maybe older than me , but i am the effective owner of the place ( his credit history is trash. He never did a credit screen . He moves around with those heavy "chained" pants and of course, he is not the owner just a sub leaser ) "
He never ever cleant the place himself and his gf did it as if she was doing a favor on us. His gf was his sex partner staying with him , perhaps free of charge in return for "kind" .
Ok I tried my best to adjust , to this situation. BUT , seems like he and his gf teamed teamed up a very nasty pair on me. 1 tenant moved out using some excuse, and the only other tenant there , living was staying there with a lot of tolerance and passive attitude - as if a 'worker' there.
Things kept going south :
<> His GF got a new pet dog , without even talking to other room-mates and that dog use to squat all over the toilet and in my room too. This happened 3 times in my room and twice in the toilet.I have 1 picture of his potty on the toilet carpet.
<> On some days I worked from home , like 3-4 days a week because my office cubicle was under repair . Apparently the bill for that month was a bit higher . He and his GF confronted me with that bill and asked me to pay like 30-40% higher , even though there is nothing there in the agreement.
<> Then the token money I paid him to hold the room - his GF told me that she would refuse the adjust that off, as that was service for holding the room. This is NOT what I had agreed with him before I moved in. It was NOT mentioned so that the token money to hold the place was a separate cost altogether .
<>Finally enough was enough , I left notes on his door, that their dog has been squatting all over my room. Next day I received a 30 day notice from his GF and a few days later she would NOT let me use the laundry on the pretext that the power bill is too high. I confronted her on this . She retorted very loudly "Get out of this place. Get out of my face ..some more abuse" and then called her BF. BF came charging on my door damaged it very badly with his auto jack and was threatened to hit me .
I was like ..these uncivilized pigs...I wanted to get medieval with that bloke, but I realized he was an idiot. I made a police complaint - a mild one . Cops came and never met him , apparently talked to another roomie and left me a voicemail that they told him to sober down etc.
Now I know I cleaned that room in and out before I left. I have receipts of renting a steam cleaner off Walgreen's . He has totally $700 of my deposit and if I counted all the "extortion" money it would be a lot more.
He refuses to return it back. I wrote 2 letters to him with xeroxes of agreement he signed etc. No reply. Called him - he used some vile language to tell me that I damaged ya da ya .
I TOOK PICTURES WHEN I LEFT AND ALSO HE AND HIS GF WHERE NOT THERE WHEN I LEFT. So I left them a note that there was no one there in the place.
Now at the end of all this - I feel cheated - too badly cheated by this bastard couple. I dont care about the money but its the feeling of being mal-treated and cheated that I want to redress.
I have with me all the paper work to document
<> there is no clause in the agreement that they could arbitrarily charge me increased power bill and that happened. There was no notice served to me that the power bill split will be uneven.
<> nothing to the mention that the holding money is theirs to keep
<> I have pics of their dishes etc lying around dirty , clothes lying outside the door step etc. and the dog pooh in the toilet
<> They did not gimme the key to the room or the house. I think I am missing my Iphone worth $600. Though I did not make a police report on that. But there is a sound basis for anything to go missing because he never gave me sufficient things to lock my room
<>The police report I filed.
Now in the State of CA, for that county I looked up the consumer court and found that the max damage liable from the faulting party is $7500. I would like to get at least $3000+ from him for all grievance he caused me. I never had such an ass***ole renter, who would charge into someones room with a car jack and threaten to beat

I would like to get at least $3000+ from him for all greviance he caused me. I never had such an asshole renter, who would charge into someones room with a car jack and threaten to beat
Thanks a lot for the well wishing but I need legal outlook to this. What all he can do against me in reiteration vs All what I can do to him , for what happened factually

I had a clown put in a new kompressor in my AC wall unit. It's clearly not as cool as it used to be. He "could not read the part number" after he put it in. This makes me wonder.....
Should I demand they come back here and get the exact kompressor for this wall unit? I feel I am being ripped off. I'm going to put a hold on my credit card until I'm satisfied.

Currently, I am making payments on a car at a "Cars and Credit" type place.. basically paying 3x the actual value of the car.
I have the car almost paid off.. $1500 to go (bi-weekly payments of $150), however, the last couple days my car has been driving funny and today I learned the transmission is going, which, for some reason is more expensive to replace in my car than others.
I have probably put over $1500 in repairs to this car already since getting it just over a year ago and am now in a pickle because I don't feel it's worth replacing the transmission on at this point.
Anyone have any ideas for what I should/could do? I need a reliable vehicle for my job (I manage 2 stores, 1 hour apart from one-another) and am on a VERY tight budget.
Thanks in advance for your help. :)

This morning some repair man put in a new compressor for my AC wall unit. But it was half the size. My Sig Other says it does not feel as cool. I am not sure if it is as cool or not. Since the guy put in a smaller Kompressor could it be the wrong one? Should I call them back and hold my credit card payment until I am sure the used the right one?

Hello, all. I'm a 22 year old college student near graduation. I went to a private technical school for Network Administration; A well respected school here. I will be graduating in September with my Associates Degree. I just got a job as a Laptop Repair Tech making $12.50 an hour. I plan on starting my Bachelors Degree-Computer Science Or Business(Will take 18 months) next fall.
Okay, so I have 25K in student loans. I have no credit card debt, no bills, except for $50 cell phone bill, Gas, play money. I still live at home. What's a better way to pay off student loans? Should I pay the required payment a month & save the rest? Or just throw all the extra $ I make towards it? I will be making around $1400 a month without overtime at my new job.
Thanks!

Bought a house in 1999...lived there til May of 2008, which I bought another (bigger) house & rented out the old one. I still own both homes in this rough economy (I know..irrelevant).
2-3 weeks ago my tax guy submitted the 1040x for us for 2008 tax year, the year I bought the current home...I could really use the $6500 as the old house A/C went out & cost me $1000 in repairs (I know, I know..also irrelevant...my point is I'm a legitamate repeat homebuyer & you'd think this tax break was meant for people like ME who could really use the credit).
Just wondering what I can expect...my expectations are on the floor. I remember some set dates on the 2nd home purchase, but can't seem to find it online anymore.
Off of the federalhousingtaxcredit.com site:
Does the home buyer have to sell their current home in order to qualify for the $6,500 repeat home buyer tax credit?
A home buyer does NOT need to sell their current home in order to be eligible for the repeat buyer credit. They can continue to own both homes, and rent or use their former home for something else, as long as it no longer serves as their principal residence. The taxpayer is required to use the new home as their principal residence, and live in it for at least 36 months, or they will have to repay the credit.
Tigg fails...but I NOW see the dates on the very top of the FAQ (11/6/09-4/30/10)..not sure WHY these frackin' span of dates are so tight! As usual, our gov't does nothing for those who really need it...not expecting my credit for sure. :o(
Hopefully the WORST I can expect is a flat out REJECT of my 1040x? My tax guy is getting old & this is the 2nd time he "drops the ball"...might consider changing next year.

a dodge van hit a marcedes...very lightly..and had its back bumper have a two scrapes of color off.. so the van driver agreed to help fix it. the van driver knew few good mechanics and spoke to the company he works with. his company said they will get it fixed at a reason able price. So he emailed the marcedes owner and told him, hey i would like to get your car fixed at my company they do a very good job here .
the marcedes owner's mechanic replies saying " hey no prolem with your company paying the bill let me know whether you wanna pay debit credit or cheque car is almost done repairing and finishing. it will be 1700$. thanks"
Now the thing is.... van driver didn agree on ths. he agreed to help fix it and then told them to get it done at his company. and also, he got estimations from 3 different mechanic shops i costs 540$ highest, to get paint scrape fixed on a marcedes bumper of that brand, cause good thign was the bumper didn bend..it only scrped color in two spots. Above all...that brand marcedes's NEW bumper costs 1500$. and they are charging him 1700$
and also he said about getting it fixed at his comany, and yet the marcedes woners mechanic went ahead and started repairing it which is not what the van driver agreed on.
no police report was made by the marcedes or the van and insurance company hasn't been involved either.

Attendance is costing me about $19k a year, just finished my first year... I'm paying it with loans, all of which are deferred.
I've been working two jobs (55+ hrs a week) in hopes of getting a car at the end of the summer, I'll probably be spending $2-3k on it, I currently have about $1000.
The car greatly increase the likelihood of me getting a job during next semester (I'll have to quit my current ones since my college is far away from home).
Once I have a job I plan on getting an apartment in town with 6-7 friends. We've been talking about it for a bit though I'm not sure if it'll all work out with each of them; worst (or perhaps best?) case scenario it's just me and my girlfriend.
An apartment in town means I don't have to take out a loan for room and board (about $13k a year) and I can keep a job all the time, not working in silly 3 month periods. I can't stand living in my parents home any longer anyway...
I'm shooting for total independence.
ALL THIS CONSIDERED:
Would be detrimental to me to have a credit card?
I believe I understand the value of hard earned money and don't have too much of a spending problem (not that those who do tend to acknowledge it...)
It's purpose would be for medical emergencies and financing auto repairs.
I'm hesitant only because my mother believes it will hurt me no matter how good I am about paying the bill on time.
I feel that I would have the best chance in applying now since my projected yearly income is higher than it has been and probably will be until next summer
Advice on ANY aspect of my situation is appreciated, though I like to think my plan is well thought out (don't we all?). But mostly: should I get a credit card?
